Presto who is one of the most popular close-up
magicians in England is featured in a lengthy London Mail
on Sunday article that looks at her career, life and
struggles. The article mentions many of her high-powered
clients like, the Royal Family, Rod Stewart, Sting, Cliff
Richard and even Paul McCartney who Presto recounts, "But
then Paul McCartney stopped in the middle of his sound
check,' she recalls. 'He walked down to the front of the
stage and said to me, 'Fay Presto, you're a bloody

"Lance
Burton's Guerilla Magic: Taking It to the Streets!"
will be taping for eight days in Las Vegas where well
known magicians will perform magic with animals on the
streets. According to a Las Vegas Review-Journal article,
scheduled performers include Penn & Teller, Mac King,
Fielding West, Dana Daniels, Sophie Evans, Bob Massey,
Kevin James, Andrew Goldenhersh, Bruce Black, Steve
August, Snake-Babe Maria, and Apollo. The one-hour special

Joe Givan and Carol
Massie-Givan have opened the Theatre of Dreams, Arts
and Event Center (735 Park Street) in Castle Rock,
Colorado on Mar. 18. Magicians scheduled to join the
Givans in the opening night festivities included Chris
Randall, Danny Archer, John Bryan, Shawn Popp and Cosmo
Salano. The current schedule of events includes cabaret
shows on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and special
family matinees running once a month through November. Joe
told MagicTimes, "With The Theatre of Dreams, we're doing
something you can't find in Denver, or anywhere else in

winners in the "Best Magician" category. Lance Burton was
the reader's pick for the award but the staff's pick was a
surprise. The Las Vegas Review-Journal staff picked
Michael Close who performs close-up magic and plays the
piano at the Houdini Lounge, also at the Monte Carlo Hotel
& Casino. The newspaper reported, "As his last name
suggests, Close is a master of close-up magic, which
always impressed us more than those funny-shaped boxes. On
top of that, he's a pianist too! So bring your

that follows the entertainers after the show and recounts
their conversations about magic, women, and life. Jamy Ian
Swiss and Todd Robbins are heavily quoted in the article
and the writer follows Michael Chaut on a week of
performances all over town describing some of his routines
and strategies for getting work. The Monday Night Magic
team is described as, "…their production company, Magical
Nights Inc., are at the forefront of trying to keep
another generation of working magicians employed and in

& Teller's weekly series on Showtime is getting great
ratings. A Variety article reported that, "The series is
averaging more than 500,000 households each week, a cool
33 percent more than the pay cable channel averaged in
that time period (Fridays at 11 p.m.) during the previous
four months, when the slot featured the sci-fi series
"Jeremiah" for a while and then movies." The article also
quotes the co-executive producer about the very good
possibility for a second season renewal. The largest
expenses in producing the shows are the lawyers and
