Daytona Magic will be producing their own magic convention
this year titled "Festival Of Magic" on Sep. 14-16.
Already booked are Harry Lorayne, Michael Finney, Harry Allen, a
full Illusion show by Fred Becker, Seaworld's Bill Whitmire, Joe
Lefler and Glen Ghirardi. It will be held at the Hawaiian Inn
(2301 S. Atlantic Ave.) in Daytona Beach, FL. Cost is $75 per

conference about the faith in science, the arts and education. Randi's talk will take place on May 3 at 7pm where he will discuss

Steve
Cohen who is a very busy New York magician and a consultant to
David Blaine will be premiering his new one-man show "Chamber
Magic" on Friday Apr. 27 at the National Arts Club in NYC.
Cohen told MagicTimes, "The show is presented in the same
intimate and sophisticated format as Hofzinser's salon shows. Only
30 guests are invited to each performance." Friday's show is
sold-out with a waiting list of around 100 people. Plans are to
make this a weekly show as soon as a permanent venue is found.

Ricky Jay In Conversation with Lawrence Weschler will be
presented on Sunday Apr. 29 at 2:30pm as part of The sixth annual
Los Angeles Times Festival of Books. Jay's talk will take place at
the Ackerman Ballroom on the UCLA campus. Looks like the talk
might center around Jay's quarterly "Jay’s Journal of
Anamolies," which is scheduled to be published in the fall.

Michael Vincent has been hired to perform two
training courses (May 17 and 24) for the Metropolitan Police
department in London. The seminar which is titled "The Magic
of Networking" is geared toward improving the way police deal
with the general public and how to develop professional and
personal communication and leadership skills. Vincent will be paid
around £6,000 for the two five-hour seminars. The novelty of the
story has been picked up by many newspapers around the world.

Randall Richman who was fighting a drunk driving incident
by claiming that he was a fire eater and the chemicals used in his
act is what made him appear drunk beat the system by having his
case dismissed when the jurors could not agree on a verdict. 10 of
the 12 jurors voted to acquit but a unanimous decision was needed for a
conviction. According to a Los Angeles Times article the jurors in
the nine-day trial said that, "…the prosecution failed to
persuade them beyond a reasonable doubt that Richman had been
drinking alcohol before his arrest." To read the Apr. 28
