The Society of American Magicians Magic Endowment Fund is proud to announce the award of three full tuition scholarships to attend summer camp at Tannen's Magic Camp. The scholarships include tuition as well as travel expenses.

The first winner of a full tuition scholarship and travel expense to Tannen's Magic Camp is Natan Lefkowits, 14 years old, of Columbia, Maryland. Natan is in 8th grade at the Wilde Lake Middle School, where he attends the school's Gifted and Talented classes and serves as a scriptwriter and graphic designer for the school's daily television broadcast. He performs his magic at birthday parties and other events, and has donated his services to his synagogue as well. He has been interested in magic since he was 10 years old and belongs to the SYM, where he is very proficient in mentoring the younger members of the community.

The second award winner of a full tuition scholarship and travel expense to Tannen's Magic Camp is Alex Linian, 15 years old, of Buffalo, New York. Alex is in 10th grade and attends McKinley High School. He came to the United States from Peru with his family four years ago. He did not speak English, but learned the language quickly and speaks it fluently. He is passionate about magic and has a job delivering newspapers so he can buy books of magic and learn all he can. He is interested in close up magic, predictions, stage manipulations, and performs at birthday parties preparing a different act for each one. He hopes to write a book about magic using his own illustrations.

The third award winner of a full tuition scholarship and travel expense to Tannen's Magic Camp is Michael Collins, 15 years old, of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Michael is a sophomore at the Doherty High School, where he is an honor student at the top 5% of his class and will be awarded by having his biography published in Who's Who Among American High School Students. Michael performs magic tricks on videotape, accompanied by verbal narrative, for the entire student body to view on daily announcements. Michael spends about 5 to 8 hours a day on his magic and performs in public where his shows have received high compliments.

We look forward to the continued development of all our winners in the performance of the magical arts.
